Sling Inspection & Re-sheathing Service in Singapore — MOM-Compliant Certification by FRT
If your lifting slings are due for annual inspection, have sustained sheath damage, or carry worn and illegible WLL labels, FRT can help. We provide round sling and webbing sling inspection, re-sheathing, proof load testing, and recertification in Singapore — helping contractors, shipyards, and industrial operators stay MOM-compliant under Singapore's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act.
Under the WSH (General Provisions) Regulations, all lifting gear used in Singapore workplaces must be thoroughly examined by an Authorised Examiner at least once every 12 months.
Slings that have been repaired, re-sheathed, or returned from heavy use must be proof load tested before returning to service. Non-compliance can result in stop-work orders, fines of up to S$20,000, or prosecution.
FRT's inspection and re-sheathing service gives you a fast, in-house solution — no need to send slings to a third-party lab. We inspect, re-sheath, proof test, and re-label at our Singapore facility, issuing a certificate endorsed by a MOM-accredited Professional Engineer or Authorised Examiner. Typical turnaround: 3–5 working days.
Singapore MOM / WSH Lifting Gear Inspection Requirements
Under the Workplace Safety and Health (General Provisions) Regulations, all lifting gear used at Singapore workplaces — including webbing slings, round slings, chain slings, shackles, and hooks — must be:
-
Inspected by a competent person before first use and after any repair
-
Thoroughly examined by an Authorised Examiner at least once every 12 months
-
Proof load tested to 2× WLL after repair, re-sheathing, or any modification
-
Labelled with a current WLL, serial number, and certificate reference — labels must be legible at all times
-
Accompanied by a valid Certificate of Test and Examination, kept available for MOM inspection at all times

Failure to comply can result in: stop-work orders on your site, fines of up to S$20,000, imprisonment of up to 2 years, or prosecution of both the company and responsible individual. MOM enforcement has intensified since the 2023 WSH e-Services system upgrade, with digital certificates now required for all registered lifting equipment.
FRT's inspection and certification service is designed specifically to help Singapore businesses meet these requirements efficiently. We issue MOM-endorsed certificates, maintain digital records for your audit trail, and can advise on inspection schedules tailored to your fleet of lifting gear.
